May 16 Lucerne
We were on the coach for the majority of the day today. We stopped in Lucerne for only a few hours. Our destination was Lauterbrunnen, but we wanted to see Lucerne for a bit. I had American dollars, Euro's, and British Pounds at this point... now it was time to get some Swiss Franc's. Unfortunately the exchange rate is terrible right now for us. Anyhow, I decided to get $100 worth of Swiss Franc's, which turned out to be approximately 110CHF. The Australians were gloating because the exchange rate for them was great! Luckies...
My sister and I decided to walk around the city and shop a little bit. This is one of my favorite things to do when traveling. I really enjoy just walking around the city and getting the local feel. Since we were in Switzerland, and we were still keeping our eyes out for souvenirs for our family, my sister and I decided to get our brothers some real Swiss pocket knives. We opted for the more expensive version and decided to get their names engraved on the knives in hopes that they will really use them. We were stoked about this idea because we finally thought of a souvenir that would be useful.
After shopping we arrived at our campsite in Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland. I must say I really like it here. The Swiss Alps are beautiful, and there are a lot of outdoor activities.
